Pretty Little Houses

When I first started my little blog earlier this year, every Tuesday I would talk about a house from a TV show. I called it TV House Tuesday, I know, I'm so clever right?! Well, that didn't last long because Summer took over my life and all my shows went on hiatus, so I couldn't think of houses to talk about. Well, today being Tuesday and all, I thought it was a good time to start that back up.

Don't judge me, but I really like Pretty Little Liars. Yes, I know, it should be reserved for 15 year olds, but I guess I'm still 15 at heart. The show takes place in the swanky town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania and  is basically about 4 girls in high school who are being tormented by the mysterious "A." And of course, all of these girls have beautiful homes.

It's amazing to me how much goes into set design. The set designer didn't just try to make it look pretty, she made each home reflect the girls and their family life perfectly.

First. let's look at Hanna's house

Her house is my favorite, it's kind of my dream house actually. The exterior is very tradional with your typical white picket fence that everyone dreams of having one day.

The inside of the house is a little more modern. Most scenes shot in her house take place in the gorgeous kitchen. Isn't the backsplash awesome! And I love the pendant lights

I also love all the molding and the colors in the house. And you can't really tell in these pictues, but the floors are really dark wook, and they are so pretty!

 Spencer's house

Spencer comes from a lot of money and her home definitely reflects that. The furniture and the design of the home is supposed to look very put together and new.

The wallpaper in her room was imported from England and was the designers biggest splurge.

Spencer's kitchen is so pretty! I love how the walls are covered in that cream subway tile, and I love the butcher block counters.

The living room is pretty much part of the kitchen. I really like the furniture in here. I love the coffee tables.

Aria's House

Aria's house has a different feel than the others. It's not exactly my style, but it's still pretty cool. It's much darker inside with a ton of wood work. Aria is a little more artsy and has a goth background, so the darkness of the home is a perfect representation of her.

I think the kitchen is really neat and has lots of character. There are no upper cabinets, which is unique, but I like how they utilize that space well with artwork and hanging pots.

I love the color of the cabinets, and how awesome is that range!

Aria's bedroom has the same dark feel and lots of woodwork as the rest of the house. The vaulted cieling in her room is pretty cool though. Her family isn't as wealthy as Spencer's, so her room was supposed to have a more vintages feel. The designer wanted it to seem like she could have found much of her furniture from a flee market, or thrift store.

Emily's House

Emily's bedroom has an awesome window seat that the girls hang out on quite a bit. A really like the light over the window seat as well.

I got most of the information for this post from this video.

TV House Tuesday- Modern Family

Do you watch Modern Family? If not, you really should start, it is hilarious! It's one of those shows that I can watch over and over and still laugh. It's kind of like Friends, except not really because Modern Family might actually get old after a while, but Friends, never! Anywho, there are 3 families on the show making up one big happy (most of the time) family. All three of their houses are different and fit them perfectly.

First up, Phil and Claire DunphyTheir home is your typical middle class family home. It fits in well with all the trends we are seeing right now. All the rooms, and especially the kitchen, have the feel of your typical hectic family home, that's probably why it feels so relatable.
They do all of their interviews on this sofa, so you see this shot quite a bit. The pillows are from Pottery Barn and the paint color is Labrador Blue from Benjamin Moore.
Here is a shot of the kitchen. It is very up to date with an open kitchen that leads right into the eating area. You can't see it here, but the family room is to the right. All the food you see is real, they eat between takes when they need a little snack. I love that!
Next up, Mitchell and Cam's Asian inspired duplex
Most of their home is done in neutrals with little splashes of color. The sofa and chairs are from furniture stores in L.A. and the occasional tables are all from West Elm.
Lily's room is my favorite room in the house becuase it's just hilarious! I love how over the top and over done in pink it is when the rest of the house is so neutral and modern. Also. you have to love the mural over her crib. The episode where they put that up is hilarious by the way.

Last is Jay and Glorias modern bachelor pad
The produceres wanted to find a home that looked like somewhere a wealthy, divorced, middle aged bachelor would live. I would say they succeeded.
The house started out as white on white, but they added splashes of red and zebra to show that Gloria had moved in and is now the woman of the house. That entry way rug is the same rug they use under the Dunphy's kitchen table. It fits perfectly in both spaces.

I got most of the info and pictures fromm LA times and Reckless Bliss.

TV house Tuesday- Up all Night

Up all Night is one of those shows that's funny because a lot of it is relatable, and Mya Rudolph is hilarious! So basically on the show, Ava is a talk show host and Reagan is her executive producer. And Reagan and her husband have a baby girl. So there you have it, a brief run down of the show.

The houses on the set are nice, but what I really like is Ragen and Ava's offices. Having a fun office like that to go to would make going to work so much easier. These first few are from Ragens' office. That accent wall is so fun!

And here is her desk, definitely not the typical desk you would see at the office. It's gorgeous, I love that color!

And here is Ava's office, I love how soft and girly it is. And while we're at it, check out Ava's fab red shoes! Holy cow!

These pictures were taken on the ipad so they arent the best, sorry. What are some of your favorite tv houses I should check out, as if I need anymore shows to watch.

TV House Tuesday- Grayson Manor

One of my guilty pleasures is most definitely Revenge, except I don't feel guilty about it, so I guess it's just a pleasure. But anyway, this show is so good! Seriously, you should watch it, unless you don't like slightly dark shows about extrememly weatlthy people doing really bad things to eachother. If that's the case, then maybe don't watch it...

Grayson Manor is the home of Victoria Grayson in the Hamptons and it is out of this world gorgeous! I'm pretty sure the exterior of the home is not real, but i'm not sure about the interior
Here is the view of the exterior. It is huge and has a gorgrous yard. Oh the life of the rich and famous.
This is a view of the kitchen. One of the things I love about this house is all the white. You can tell it is uber expensive, but it doesn't feel overdone or stuffy. And you can't really tell in the picture, but the backplash is really cool. And those lights, love them!
Another feature I love is the dark wood accents and all the molding. You don't see much art on the walls but the walls definitely don't feel incomplete.
The living is room done in neutrals, but again, it's not boring at all and doesn't feel stuffy. And I love the transom windows over the opening to the room.

And this is one of the many guests rooms. I just really like the headboard.
