Simple Modern Nursery

This nursery, designed by Nichole from Me Oh My, is one of my all time favorite nursery's! I love the soft and sophisticated color palate. I also love that she used one of my favorite rugs from West Elm. If you just replace the crib with a super soft king size bed, I could totally live in there.

First off, how cute is that baby! And his name Ford, I love that!
Can we talk about that light fixture and that pig?! The fixture is gorgeous, and I just want to pick up that pig and stick him in my pocket!

Boheimian Chic Nursery

I was wasting time gathering inspiration on Pinterest yesterday and I saw this awesome nursery designed by Rebecca Woolf for her twin daughters. I love all the accents, from the animal heads on the walls to the mis-matched drawer pulls. And don't even get me started on the curtains, I am in love with that fabric!

Little man's new dresser

Last week I mentioned a few projects I've been working on. One of them was a dresser for Beck's room. The poor little guy has never had a real dresser, so I figured it was about time. My parents gave this to us and it has been sitting in our garage for a while just waiting to be painted and put to use.
The dresser was still in really good shape, just needed some cosmetic work. Luckily most of the stain that was on it before was pretty much worn off so I didn't need to sand it. Since I skipped the sanding and went straight to priming, I used Zinsser primer, that stuff works like a champ. After I did a couple coats of primer I started painting! Here is my finished dresser in all it's orange glory!
I ended up doing 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint. I already had the primer and I knew it wouldn't take much paint so I just bought 2 samples of Valspar paint for a total of $6! I love a cheap makeover.

I got these knobs at Hobby Lobby for $1.50 a piece. I love them! They do a great job of pulling in the blue from his crib bedding. I am so excited to get working on his room! Now that the dresser is done I can focus on accessorizing and dressing up the walls. I can't wait. Here's one more before and after.

Online Design Nursery Mood Board

I did an internship years ago at a design firm specializing in children's and nursery design. I loved it! The possibilities are endless with children's rooms, you can go as wild or as subdued as you want. I love when I get the chance to work on a nursery, here is an online design mood board I recently did for a little girls nursery.

A few side notes: the walls are going to have board and baton 2/3 of the way up and then gray at the top, and the crib bedding will be custom made and all white, I just couldn't find a very good picture of what I wanted online.

See my design services page for more information if you are interested in your own online design.

Baby Cakes

I cannot wait to finally be able to decorate my little boy's nursery. Poor little guy's crib has been shoved in the corner of our bedroom his nine long months of life. I found some blue argyle fabric a while ago that I fell in love with and had to have it for his crib. I then went to work, with the help of my mom, and made his crib bedding. Sorry for the aweful cell phone picture, the colors look a little funky. I plan on switching out the brown ties on the bumper for orange and adding some more splashes of orange to his nursery.
Here's my plan for little man's nursery
