Ch-ch-ch-changes

Ok, I have some news. You may have guessed it already due to my lack of posting. For those of you who do not know yet, I'm pregnant with baby number 2!

I'm currently 16 weeks and finally getting some energy back . I have had absolutely no desire or energy to do pretty much anything, especially blogging. The fact that I actually did my hair today and put on a full face of makeup is really saying something. Baby will be here in October and we are so excited!

I have no intention of turning this blog into a pregnancy journal, so for the sake of making sure this picture of my growing tummy is not the only thing in this post, I will leave you with some pretty spaces I have pinned lately (you can follow me on Pinterest here).
I love the simplicity of this vanity area. It feels so clean and inviting, and those pendants are gorgeous!
Have a great weekend!

Happy late Halloween

I hope you all had a happy and safe Halloween! Our night looked a lot like this...

This guy was so mad at me because I wouldn't give him a cookie until after he had dinner. I know, worst mom ever right?!
Well, he never had dinner, so he never got a cookie, so he never got over being mad at me.

And this is the closest thing we could get to a good picture of him in his costume, he wasn't feeling those Mickey ears on his head.

Happy late Halloween!

Snapshots of Fall

Fall is almost in full swing around here. It is finally cooling down at night and I haven't had to turn the AC on 3 full days! Love that! It's feeling like Fall inside the house as well. Here are a few little snippets of what it's looking like at home.

I scored that gold sparkly skull at Ross for $3! I didn't realize until I got home that the little eyeballs are actually multicolored flashing lights. It creeps me out a little bit, so I just leave those off. Have a lovely Tuesday!

I'm Back!

I have a couple faithful followers who may have noticed my absence last week. Husband, little dude and I spent the week in Michigan with my husband's family. We had a blast! My in-laws live out in the country and have alpacas, a dog, lots of land, and a four wheeler, so naturally Beck was in little boy heaven. They also have Amish neighbors who make the BEST peanut butter, you better believe we stocked up on that stuff. It was a week packed full of adventures, we went to a Chicago Cubs game so my husband could see Wrigley Field, we went camping, went to lake Michigan, and I got over my fears and let Beckham ride on a four wheeler. It was fun while it lasted, but now back to reality. I hate that!

I hope you all have a great Monday! I'll be back tomorrow with some design talk, until then I have lots of unpacking, laundry, and sleep to take care of.

My week from instagram

I got a new lamp for Beck's room. His room is slowly, like snail speed, coming together

The little goofball was tired of sitting in the cart at Costco so he decided it was much more fun to help dad push. He pushed it all around the store and screamed at us if we tried to put him down

We celebrated our 3rd anniversary at Ruth Chris Steakhouse. It was delicious
My dinner, AKA best chicken and sweet potatoes ever!

Little guy sleeps with his buns in the air, it's so stinking cute

I taped out stripes to spray paint curtains for Beck's room, then I started painting them in the garage last night. Worst idea ever! Talk about a major headache. Im going to do it outside next time.

A Mustache Bash!

My little Beck turned one a couple weeks ago and Friday was his big party. I still can't believe my little monkey is already a year, he's growing up too fast and he is now an official walker!  stop growing baby! We had a blast at the party. Beck and all the little kiddos loved swimming! I swear that kid is going to have a pool party for all of his birthday's, it's so easy and requires very little entertainment on my part. My fabulous sister took some pictures for me and she did an awesome job. I forgot to have her get a picture of the food table when it was completely set up, but here are a few bits and pieces of it.

Graduation cake

My little sister graduated from high school last week. What!? How old am I? I remember when that little tyke was born, and now she's all graduated and headed off to college. Such a proud moment :). Even though I am not ok with her graduating, becuase in my mind she is still 5, I agreed to make a cake for her graduation party. And by agreed, I mean I volunteered so I wouldn't have to get her a real present. Haha just jokes, maybe I'll blow up a picture of myself and frame it all fancy so she never forgets me!

Getting there... kind of

Well my living room is slowly, and I really mean slowly, coming together. Our sofa finally came in last week and I love it! It is big and soft and fabulous. I think part of why I was so excited about it's arival is beacause for the past few weeks we had been sitting on the floor or our one lonely chair, this chair to be exact.

So I still have big plans for this room, but for now this is all the decorating I have done. Like I said, it is coming along slowly. I have some solid blue pillows in the works right now, and by that I mean I have the fabric to get started on them. You can also see a little snippet (I'm assuming that's a real word) of the painted kitchen cabinets in the corner, more on that later.

And this lamp used to look like this

I found it at a thrift store for $5. Love a bargain! A little spray paint goes a long way. I went with white because I was first planning on getting a fun pattern lamp shade, but then I found this white one and I really liked it. So now I can't decide if I want to repaint it or leave it all white, I'm kind of digging the white thing though. As evidence of just how indecisive I am, the shade still has a plastic wrapper on it and I think I bought it 2 weeks ago. I'm having a really hard time committing to it, I seriously need help.

As a side note, my little guy turned 1 yesterday! The little stinker is getting too big way too fast. We celebrated with a dinner consisting of his favorite foods, blue berries, broccoli, and chicken nuggets. What a little cutie he is!

Just Breathe

Holy cow it has a been a busy last few days. We are all moved into our house, and by that I mean we have boxes and bags full of stuff shoved in the front room waiting to be put away. It's amazing how much crap we had in our tiny one bedroom apartment. We really thought it would be a quick and easy move, but we had way more stuff than we thought. Live and learn I guess.

On a brighter note, my cabinets and table are done! I'm so excited! I'll post pictures as soon as my kitchen is in picture taking condition, don't hold your breath for that one.

And I other news, here are a few things I am loving today. Happy Tuesday!

Scenes from the week

1. I am going to town on that table and chairs! It has taken longer than expected because I can really only work on it while the little dude is taking a nap. It's looking good though, I can't wait for it to be finished!

2. Nate and the babe took down all the cabinet doors for me so I could start painting. What sweethearts they are! For some reason I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead paint those guys this week along with all the packing and cleaning I have to do before moving day on Saturday. Don't ask me why.

3. Paint, paint, and more paint. Actually that's a lie, these are just primed, not painted. Literally all I have done this week is paint, prime, and go to Lowes. We are tight now, Lowes and I. My goal is for them to know me by name before the month is through. And my hand hurts from all the painting.

4. Love this stuff. It saved me hours of sanding those nast cabinet doors. Thank you Zinsser, a great big thank you! I owe you one.
