I'm still here!

Wow! That was a long, unintended break from the blog world. I just realized today that it has been over a month since my last post.  We've had some exciting things happening around here which has left me with less time and energy to do much, more on all of that to come, I promise. I have also unintentionally put a lot of my home to-do list on hold, but that is soon to change. Hopefully I will have some home updates to share with you all very soon.

Easter is this Sunday, which means it's time to stock up on Cadburry Cream eggs and Mini Eggs until they are gone until next year. Seriously, it's a good thing they don't make those things year round. It also means that it's time to start decorating those eggs! Decorated Easter eggs can be so pretty! Here are a couple decorating techniques I would love to try out this year.

Easter Egg Inspiration

Well it's almost Easter which means it's time to stock up on candy before it's all gone. It also means that it's time to decorate those eggs. I'm usually boring and just buy the dye kit from the store, I know I'm totally lame. This year I found some fun and really cool ways to dye eggs, so maybe I'll branch out a little. Check these out!

Easter Cookies

My favorite Christmas cookies are my mom's Hersey kiss cookies. They are delicious! So i figured since they make my tummy so happy, why only eat them at Christmas? Yesterday at Target I bought my very first bag of mini eggs this year, which is huge acheivment for me, I seriously don't know how I waited so long. Mix those eggs with the Christmas cookies and you have yourself one happy girl, or an extra few hours at gym, whichever way you want to look at it. And as an added bonus they look like little bird's nest, now you can't beat that!
Here's the recipe, enjoy!

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 1/4 cup flour
pinch salt

Mix all ingredients and roll into 1 1/2 inch balls. Make a small thumbprint in each cookie and bake at 350 for 10 mins. As soon as you take them out of the oven place 2-3 mini eggs in the middle of each cookie. Get a glass of milk and enjoy!
