Dirty laundry

Today is good day, you know why? I'll tell you, because I got a new washer and dryer! I can't even describe how excited I am about this, and I hate doing laundry, so that's saying something. We got a hand me down washer and dryer when we moved, and while I was happy we didn't have to buy one then, it is definitely time. Lets just say there's a reason the family who gave them to us got a new set. I tell ya, if it wasn't creepy and slightly awkward, I would have given the delivery guys a great big hug, and maybe a pat on the bum. We didn't even get anything fancy. Our old washer was a front load and I didn't like it, so I'm sticking with the top loader.

Instead of a laundry room, we have a laundry closet. Currently it is a messy, very unorganized sad excuse of a Landry room. Now that I have a brand spanking new washer and dryer I am suddenly motivated to make my closet fabulous! Here it is in it's current messy state.

Sad right? I don't really know what I want to do in there yet, I just think that I will enjoy doing laundry so much more if I have somewhere pretty and organized to do it in. So here is some awesome laundry closet inspiration I found.

  2. Oh my goodness! It has never even crossed my mind to decorate my laundry closet, but I'm totally inspired to do it now! Add that to the looooong list of home projects! I love, love, love that wood paneled one! Can't wait to see what you decide to do!

We bought our first washer and dryer for $15 from a little old lady right before we got married, and the washer is still going strong. Knock on that gorgeous wood paneled laundry closet that it continues to do so! : )

  4. I am just waiting so patiently to close escrow on our new place to tackle the laundry closet...I can't wait to make it pretty. You have some great inspiration here. And I agree that the front loaders are a pain...if only I knew that before we got ours 5 years ago. Can't wait to see what you do!

  7. Oh how I would love a pretty laundry room! We got a new washer and dryer about a year ago and I love them, but they are in the dark old basement. We hope to redo the basement someday, and I can't wait to have a nice laundry room when we do!
