I have been known to watch HGTV from time to time, and while I don't like all the shows or designers I do have my few favorites. I would have to say that hands down my favorite designer is Sarah Richardson. I have not seen any rooms she's done that I didn't love. Her rooms always have some sort of unexpected element in them and she rarely does anything too trendy. She is also a master at mixing patterns and using scale correctly. So many of her rooms have lots of different patterns and fabrics in them, but they never feel too busy or overdone. Basically, she is my hero.

I would have never thought to put that wallpaper on the
ceiling of a little boy nursery, but it looks awesome in this room. See
what I mean by unexpected elements! |

This room is the perfect mix of masculine and feminine. And that rug with the head and foot board, gorgeous! |

I love her mix of old and new by using the reclaimed wood on the island, and that backsplash is fabulous! |
I super love her!! Haven't seen that boy nursery before. Love wallpaper on ceilings!
ReplyDeleteShe is definitely a favourite of mine as well! Her and Tommy are hilarious together and I love that she uses thrifted and reused items often. I must admit sometimes I find her pattern mixing a bit off of my taste but for the most part I love what she does.
ReplyDeleteI love her style as well!! That dining room is killing me; I want it!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I am so out of the HGTV loop, but you are right. Those rooms are all fantastic ... full without being business, great pops of color and the perfect unexpected elements. Thank you so much for the inspiration this morning. I'm going to share on my fb page. :)
ReplyDeleteI love her show. I definitely love her style also =) I am a big fan of mixing patterns...I wish I could pull it off as well as she can!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you! I guess HGTV started re-airing her cottage series because all of a sudden there are 6 episodes on my DVR. You better believe I'm waiting for a nice, rainy day to re-watch them all at once!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I just love her style and the transformation of her own vacation home was AMAZING!! Thrilled to be your newest follower -
ReplyDeleteThe wallpaper on the ceiling is a great idea. I lack in interior design quite a bit. The only ideas I get are from I watch design shows or look at pinterest...

I love me some Sarah Richardson. I like how her designs read as classic and timeless, but also have fun twists as you pointed out!
ReplyDeleteI'd give her the keys to my house and let her do whatever she wanted! :)
