A while ago I mentioned a desk that we got for free at a garage sale. It was nothing fancy, and had a few flaws here and there. You can't really tell in the before picture, but the stain was streaky and fading in parts, and it had little holes all over it. Strange, I know. But it was free so I can't complain. I would say we totally lucked out on this one! I was very excited to get my hands on it, here is the fabulous before picture...
And here are the afters. Sorry for the terrible pictures, I seriously need a new camera. The colors look so off in these. The desk is actually a light gray, not white like it looks. And contrary to what the picture says, the desk and the wall are not the same color. I think its a pretty big improvement from where it began. I am on the hunt right now for some knobs to replace the ones that are currently there, but in the mean time these painted ones will have to do.
I wanted to do a little more than just paint it one solid color so I added this stencil to the sides. I thought about saving some money and making my own stencil, but then I realized what a bad idea that really was, so I bought this one by Martha Stewart. That was way easier and way less time consuming!
