Family Room progress via instagram

Well we made a trip to Ikea last weekend. I couldn't handle how unfinished the family room was so I gave in bought some cheaper furniture while I save up for my dream coffee table. We bought the oh so popular Lack coffee table, which I plan on attacking soon and turning into something fabulous, or at least attempting to. Don't get your hopes up, it probably won't be a very dramatic transformation. We also got a tv stand since our tv had been sitting on an ugly old end table we found on Craigslist since we moved in. It was a much needed upgrade I would say.

I realize that these are fake flowers and it would look much better with real ones, that just requires remembering to pick some up when I'm out, which has proven to be quite the challenge for me :). So in the mean time these little guys are doing the trick to add some extra color.

I picked up this lovely little owl at TJ Maxx yesterday and I'm slightly obsessed with it. I've named him Oliver. Also, I have a desk and a dresser sitting in my garage waiting to be painted. I got the dresser all primed so hopefully I will get that finished this week I can't wait to get it done and show you all!

  1. Looking good! It's so hard to patient while you wait for your budget to get bigger :)

  2. Ooh I love the contrast of the armchair and that beautiful floral cushion! Thanks for your comment just now on my post - it reminded me to come over and catch up on my reading! have really been needing some fresh inspiration thanks :)xAmy

  3. Love those pillows! Can't wait to see what you do with that table too.

  4. Your living room is adorable! It's okay...fake flowers look pretty too :)

  5. Oliver is so cute! If I lived near an Ikea, I would go buy cheap furniture, too. :) Love those two pillows together!

  6. I am obsessed with owls too! I have three and have yet to name them, but now I have too! They are just so cute! Love your room! That Ikat chair is great!

You want to leave me a note? Thank you, I LOVE that!
