Designer Crush- Sarah Richardson

I have been known to watch HGTV from time to time, and while I don't like all the shows or designers I do have my few favorites. I would have to say that hands down my favorite designer is Sarah Richardson. I have not seen any rooms she's done that I didn't love. Her rooms always have some sort of unexpected element in them and she rarely does anything too trendy. She is also a master at mixing patterns and using scale correctly. So many of her rooms have lots of different patterns and fabrics in them, but they never feel too busy or overdone. Basically, she is my hero.

I would have never thought to put that wallpaper on the ceiling of a little boy nursery, but it looks awesome in this room. See what I mean by unexpected elements!

This room is the perfect mix of masculine and feminine. And that rug with the head and foot board, gorgeous!

I love her mix of old and new by using the reclaimed wood on the island, and that backsplash is fabulous!

House Tour

One blog that I read on the daily is Danielle Oakey Interiors. I love her style and all the rooms she designs. I also went through the same design program as her, just a couple years later. The thing I admire the most about her work is the way she mixes patters and colors. She is super talented when it comes to that. Here are a few pictures of her home. It is so bright and colorful. I love it!

Some people are just cool

Tanya from Dans le Townhouse is one talented little lady. I came across her blog the other day and sat there for a good 30 minutes, while my baby destroyed everything in sight, drooling over all her amazing artwork and fabulous DIY projects. I mean seriously, this chica has some major skills!

I love the way she designed her house. The first thing I noticed is that all the walls are white, and it looks awesome. Having no color on the walls makes a great canvas to display all her artwork.
