Simple Valentine Decor
I don't normally do much for Valentine's day as far as decorations go. A bowl full of festive candy is really all I need! But this year I decided that I wanted to add just a little something. Yesterday the kiddo and I went out to Michael's and strolled through the isles until I decided what I wanted to make. We came home with all the supplies to make this XOXO plaque, because, let's be honest, you can't have Valentine's day without hugs and kisses.
It was pretty simple to make and didn't take very long at all. Here's how I did it.
You'll need a plaque, some letters, glitter, paint and supplies, a hot glue gun, tacky glue, and ribbon. The plaque was only $2, and the letters were a dollar a piece, so this project was quite easy on the wallet.
Once the paint was dry I turned it over and hot glued the ribbon around the sides. Finally I used some tacky glue and glued my letters in place. And done! So simple. I then placed it next to the roses I got for my birthday. And that, my friends, is the extent of my Valentine's day decorating.

Thanksgiving Place Cards
We are having Thanksgiving at my brother and sister in law's this year so I don't get the joy of planning an awesome tablescape. My cute sister in law decorated the table for Christmas last year, and it was fabulous, so I guess it's kind of a good thing. I would have have put way too much pressure on myself to try to make it as cute as her's. Even though I am not in charge of any sort of decorating I still think it's fun to look at all the great ideas. I have a thing for place cards in table settings, I just think they can be so fun and creative. So for those of you who are going to be decorating a gorgeous table this year, here's some of my favorite Thanksgiving place cards.

Happy late Halloween
I hope you all had a happy and safe Halloween! Our night looked a lot like this...
This guy was so mad at me because I wouldn't give him a cookie until after he had dinner. I know, worst mom ever right?!
Well, he never had dinner, so he never got a cookie, so he never got over being mad at me.
And this is the closest thing we could get to a good picture of him in his costume, he wasn't feeling those Mickey ears on his head.
Happy late Halloween!

Snapshots of Fall
Fall is almost in full swing around here. It is finally cooling down at night and I haven't had to turn the AC on 3 full days! Love that! It's feeling like Fall inside the house as well. Here are a few little snippets of what it's looking like at home.
I scored that gold sparkly skull at Ross for $3! I didn't realize until I got home that the little eyeballs are actually multicolored flashing lights. It creeps me out a little bit, so I just leave those off. Have a lovely Tuesday!

Pretty Pumpkins
In honor of today being the first day of October I thought I would share some awesome pumpkin inspiration with you all. The only downfall of today being October is that I don't think the weather got the memo, we are supposed to have a high of 100 today. Yep, you heard me, 100 degrees! I really wish Summer would just get out of here all ready!

Paper Straw Wreath
I was over looking at my friend Sarah's blog, Sarah Dawn Designs, and she had posted about a wreath she made with paper straws. It was so cute and looked super easy. Since I had tons of straws left over from my kiddo's birthday party I decided to put them to use. So thanks Sarah for the inspiration! Here's how I did it.
1. The supplies- paper straws, a six inch mdf wreath form, and a hot glue gun. I think I used around 175 straws.
2. Cut about 2 inches off roughly 30 straws. Start gluing the straws on the wreath alternating between long and short. I actually found that it was easier to glue down a few long ones, leaving a small space between each, and then glue down the short straws.
3. After I was done I thought it looked a little too flat so I decided to add more straws.
4. Cut about an inch off the remainder of the straws so the length is between the short and long straw. Then turn the wreath over and glue them on so they line up in the space between each straw.
After all the straws were on I added a red bow to make it a little more 4th of July-y. BAM, done! It was so easy. From start to finish it only took me one episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which is about 25 mins. Good thing because if it would have taken me any longer I would have had some chubby little fingers trying to help. Have a lovely weekend erbody!
Don't forget to check out Sarah's blog for more great inspiration!

4th of July Yummies
Can you believe it's almost July? I seriously cannot! It's crazy how fast this year has flown by, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. With the 4th just around the corner I have BBQ's and delicious sweets on my mind. Here a few yummy looking snacks to try this year.

Easter Egg Inspiration
Well it's almost Easter which means it's time to stock up on candy before it's all gone. It also means that it's time to decorate those eggs. I'm usually boring and just buy the dye kit from the store, I know I'm totally lame. This year I found some fun and really cool ways to dye eggs, so maybe I'll branch out a little. Check these out!
